Le b\u00e2timent, pr\u00e9vu \u00e0 Symphony Park, au centre-ville de Las Vegas, devrait ouvrir ses portes en 2029.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">Le savoir-faire architectural burkinab\u00e8 s\u2019invite au c\u0153ur de Las Vegas, aux \u00c9tats-Unis. L\u2019architecte Francis K\u00e9r\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 retenu pour concevoir le futur Las Vegas Museum of Art (LVMA), une infrastructure culturelle appel\u00e9e \u00e0 marquer le paysage architectural de la ville. \u00c0 travers ce projet, le concepteur originaire de Gando, au Burkina Faso, confirme son rayonnement international et sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 associer identit\u00e9 locale, innovation et exigences contemporaines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">Implant\u00e9 \u00e0 Symphony Park, dans le centre-ville de Las Vegas, le futur mus\u00e9e s\u2019\u00e9tendra sur une superficie d\u2019environ 5 500 m\u00b2. Son architecture s\u2019inspirera des caract\u00e9ristiques naturelles du d\u00e9sert de Mojave, du modernisme embl\u00e9matique de Las Vegas et de la silhouette du baobab, arbre symbolique de plusieurs r\u00e9gions africaines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">La fa\u00e7ade du b\u00e2timent devrait notamment se distinguer par une mosa\u00efque de pierres locales, dont les nuances rappelleront les couleurs des Red Rock Mountains, un paysage naturel embl\u00e9matique de la r\u00e9gion. Le projet entend ainsi \u00e9tablir un dialogue entre l\u2019environnement d\u00e9sertique, l\u2019identit\u00e9 urbaine de Las Vegas et une approche architecturale contemporaine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Un projet international port\u00e9 par plusieurs partenaires<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">Pour mener \u00e0 bien cette r\u00e9alisation, K\u00e9r\u00e9 Architecture collaborera avec le cabinet am\u00e9ricain Skidmore, Owings &amp; Merrill (SOM), reconnu pour ses grands projets architecturaux. Le Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), l\u2019un des principaux mus\u00e9es d\u2019art des \u00c9tats-Unis, est \u00e9galement associ\u00e9 au projet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">Le calendrier pr\u00e9visionnel pr\u00e9voit un d\u00e9marrage des travaux au plus tard en f\u00e9vrier 2027, pour une ouverture au public envisag\u00e9e en 2029. Une fois achev\u00e9, le LVMA ambitionne de renforcer l\u2019offre culturelle de Las Vegas, notamment en proposant un espace sp\u00e9cifiquement consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019art.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">Pour Francis K\u00e9r\u00e9, cette commande repr\u00e9sente une nouvelle \u00e9tape dans une carri\u00e8re marqu\u00e9e par des r\u00e9alisations qui accordent une place importante au contexte local, aux mat\u00e9riaux et aux besoins des communaut\u00e9s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">\u00ab C\u2019est un immense honneur et un temps fort de mon parcours professionnel \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 l\u2019architecte, selon les propos rapport\u00e9s dans la pr\u00e9sentation du projet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">De Gando \u00e0 la sc\u00e8ne architecturale mondiale<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">N\u00e9 en 1965 \u00e0 Gando, au Burkina Faso, Francis K\u00e9r\u00e9 s\u2019est progressivement impos\u00e9 comme une figure majeure de l\u2019architecture contemporaine. Son parcours est notamment marqu\u00e9 par la construction, en 2001, d\u2019une \u00e9cole primaire dans son village natal, alors d\u00e9pourvu d\u2019\u00e9tablissement scolaire. Cette r\u00e9alisation, con\u00e7ue en tenant compte des conditions climatiques locales et des ressources disponibles, a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 faire conna\u00eetre son approche architecturale.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">En 2022, il est devenu le premier architecte n\u00e9 en Afrique \u00e0 recevoir le prestigieux prix Pritzker, consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme l\u2019une des plus hautes distinctions mondiales dans le domaine de l\u2019architecture. Cette r\u00e9compense a consacr\u00e9 un travail qui associe innovation, durabilit\u00e9, mat\u00e9riaux locaux et participation des communaut\u00e9s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\">Avec le futur mus\u00e9e d\u2019art de Las Vegas, Francis K\u00e9r\u00e9 poursuit son parcours sur la sc\u00e8ne internationale.
