Elle appelle les trois pays \u00e0 poursuivre le dialogue et \u00e0 rester engag\u00e9s au sein de l&rsquo;institution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s3\">Dans un communiqu\u00e9 publi\u00e9 depuis La Haye, la Pr\u00e9sidence de l&rsquo;AEP dit regretter les initiatives prises par les trois \u00c9tats de l&rsquo;Alliance des \u00c9tats du Sahel (AES), estimant qu&rsquo;elles risquent de fragiliser les efforts de la communaut\u00e9 internationale en mati\u00e8re de justice p\u00e9nale et de lutte contre l&rsquo;impunit\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s3\">L&rsquo;organe de gouvernance de la CPI rappelle que la Cour joue un r\u00f4le central dans la r\u00e9pression des crimes les plus graves et que son efficacit\u00e9 d\u00e9pend du soutien de ses \u00c9tats parties. Il invite ainsi le Burkina Faso, le Mali et le Niger \u00e0 maintenir leur engagement au sein du Statut de Rome et \u00e0 poursuivre une participation \u00ab constructive \u00bb aux travaux de l&rsquo;Assembl\u00e9e.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s3\">La Pr\u00e9sidence insiste \u00e9galement sur le fait que l&rsquo;Assembl\u00e9e des \u00c9tats parties demeure le cadre appropri\u00e9 pour d\u00e9battre des pr\u00e9occupations des \u00c9tats membres. Elle encourage les trois pays \u00e0 privil\u00e9gier cette voie afin de poursuivre les \u00e9changes sur les questions soulev\u00e9es.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s3\">Le communiqu\u00e9 rappelle par ailleurs qu&rsquo;un retrait du Statut de Rome n&rsquo;efface pas les obligations juridiques contract\u00e9es avant son entr\u00e9e en vigueur. Les engagements pris par un \u00c9tat durant sa p\u00e9riode d&rsquo;adh\u00e9sion continuent de produire leurs effets, conform\u00e9ment aux dispositions du trait\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s3\">La Pr\u00e9sidence souligne enfin que le Burkina Faso, le Mali et le Niger ont, au fil des ann\u00e9es, contribu\u00e9 aux travaux de l&rsquo;Assembl\u00e9e et au renforcement de la Cour p\u00e9nale internationale en tant qu&rsquo;institution judiciaire ind\u00e9pendante.
