Le limogeage d’Ousmane Sonko n’est ni un accident de parcours, ni une querelle d’\u00e9gos mal ma\u00eetris\u00e9e. C’est le d\u00e9nouement d’un calcul froid et parfaitement ex\u00e9cut\u00e9. En faisant sauter la table de la Primature, Sonko a r\u00e9ussi une op\u00e9ration rare : troquer le costume inconfortable de gestionnaire d’une crise \u00e9conomique abyssale contre l’armure du martyr de la puret\u00e9 id\u00e9ologique. Les mains propres. Le bilan chez l’autre.<\/span><\/p>\n

Commen\u00e7ons par les faits. L’ancien inspecteur des imp\u00f4ts savait exactement dans quoi il entrait. \u00c0 132 % du PIB de dette, le S\u00e9n\u00e9gal ne peut pas s’offrir le luxe de l’isolement \u00e9conomique. Les accords avec le FMI ne sont pas une option id\u00e9ologique. Ils sont le respirateur artificiel du pays. Signer ces accords, c’est accepter la rigueur, l’aust\u00e9rit\u00e9, et la fin des illusions souverainistes les plus spectaculaires. Pour un tribun dont le fonds de commerce est la rh\u00e9torique anti-imp\u00e9rialiste, apposer sa signature au bas de ces documents aurait constitu\u00e9 un suicide politique devant sa propre base. Sonko a donc choisi de ne pas se salir les mains. Il a pouss\u00e9 le curseur de la provocation id\u00e9ologique jusqu’\u00e0 contraindre Faye \u00e0 la rupture, et s’est extirp\u00e9 du navire avant que le bilan ne l’emporte.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bassirou Diomaye Faye se retrouve aujourd’hui dans le r\u00f4le le plus ingrat de la politique s\u00e9n\u00e9galaise. C’est lui qui signe les compromis financiers avec les institutions qu’on avait promis de d\u00e9fier. C’est lui qui g\u00e8re la col\u00e8re de la rue face au co\u00fbt de la vie. C’est lui qui endosse l’impopularit\u00e9 des r\u00e9formes \u00e0 venir. Et pour la base du PASTEF, le verdict est d\u00e9j\u00e0 rendu : Faye a trahi, Faye fait le jeu du syst\u00e8me, Faye s’est soumis aux imp\u00e9rialistes. En devenant le garant de la stabilit\u00e9 macro\u00e9conomique du pays, ce que la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 lui imposait, le pr\u00e9sident est devenu malgr\u00e9 lui le paratonnerre de la ranc\u0153ur populaire. Sonko lui a externalis\u00e9 le sale boulot, proprement, sans laisser d’empreintes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pendant ce temps, Sonko se retire dans la fra\u00eecheur de l’opposition. Lib\u00e9r\u00e9 de toute responsabilit\u00e9 gouvernementale, il n’a plus \u00e0 proposer de solutions concr\u00e8tes \u00e0 une crise dont il \u00e9tait co-responsable. Il lui suffit de maintenir sa base sous tension, de souffler sur les braises du souverainisme et d’attendre que le travail ingrat soit accompli. Le discours pour 2029 est d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9crit : \u00ab Ils ont trahi le Projet. Je reviens pour l’appliquer vraiment. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

C’est le propre du populisme. Non pas simplement un style de discours, mais une m\u00e9thode de conservation du capital politique par l’\u00e9vitement syst\u00e9matique des responsabilit\u00e9s. On conquiert le pouvoir par la promesse. On quitte la gestion avant que la promesse ne se fracasse sur le r\u00e9el. On revient en sauveur quand le terrain est d\u00e9blay\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ce calcul est brillant sur le papier. Il comporte pourtant un pari risqu\u00e9 sur la m\u00e9moire courte d’un peuple que l’histoire a dot\u00e9 d’une remarquable lucidit\u00e9 politique. Les S\u00e9n\u00e9galais ont vu partir Sonko sur un \u00ab Alhamdoulillah \u00bb post\u00e9 en quelques secondes. Ils ont vu un homme soulag\u00e9, pas un homme bless\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n

On ne nourrit pas ind\u00e9finiment une nation avec de l’id\u00e9ologie quand les assiettes sont vides. Et l’on ne gouverne pas un pays en sous-traitant le r\u00e9el \u00e0 son successeur d\u00e9sign\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n
