Dix-huit afrodescendants vivant au Royaume-Uni, principalement originaires de la Jama\u00efque et des Cara\u00efbes, se sont recueillis le 30 janvier 2026 au M\u00e9morial Thomas Sankara \u00e0 Ouagadougou. Ce p\u00e8lerinage symbolique s\u2019inscrit dans un voyage de reconnexion avec leurs racines africaines et de soutien \u00e0 la R\u00e9volution progressiste engag\u00e9e au Burkina Faso.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Arrach\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019Afrique par l\u2019histoire et dispers\u00e9s dans le monde, ces descendants d\u2019Africains d\u00e9port\u00e9s portent encore en eux la m\u00e9moire d\u2019une terre qu\u2019ils n\u2019ont parfois jamais foul\u00e9e, mais \u00e0 laquelle ils demeurent profond\u00e9ment attach\u00e9s. C\u2019est dans cette dynamique qu\u2019ils ont foul\u00e9 la terre du pays des Hommes int\u00e8gres en allant se recueillir au M\u00e9morial Thomas Sankara dans la soir\u00e9e du 30 janvier.<\/p>\n

Pr\u00e9sident de la communaut\u00e9 burkinab\u00e8 au Royaume-Uni, Wendpagnangd\u00e9 Alain Rouamba explique : \u00ab Notre pr\u00e9sence ici, au M\u00e9morial, vise \u00e0 permettre \u00e0 des fr\u00e8res et s\u0153urs de la diaspora de se reconnecter \u00e0 leurs racines africaines<\/em> \u00bb. Il a soulign\u00e9 que le choix du Burkina Faso s\u2019est impos\u00e9 naturellement : \u00ab Beaucoup d\u2019entre eux appr\u00e9cient et soutiennent les actions que m\u00e8ne notre Pr\u00e9sident, le capitaine Ibrahim Traor\u00e9, ainsi que la dynamique de la R\u00e9volution progressiste engag\u00e9e dans notre pays<\/em> \u00bb. Le groupe, compos\u00e9 de descendants d\u2019Africains d\u00e9port\u00e9s dans les Cara\u00efbes, notamment en Jama\u00efque, \u00e0 Sainte-Lucie ou \u00e0 la Barbade, entend \u00ab apporter leur modeste soutien et leurs encouragements \u00e0 cette r\u00e9volution<\/em> \u00bb.<\/p>\n

Le s\u00e9jour de quinze jours comprend des visites culturelles et touristiques \u00e0 Laongo et \u00e0 la mare aux ca\u00efmans sacr\u00e9s. \u00ab Ma perception est tr\u00e8s positive. Ce que j\u2019ai constat\u00e9 de mes propres yeux est encourageant <\/em>\u00bb, a confi\u00e9 Wendpagnangd\u00e9 Alain Rouamba quant \u00e0 la d\u00e9marche entreprise par les nouvelles autorit\u00e9s. \u00ab Je dis donc chapeau \u00e0 nos dirigeants et aux forces engag\u00e9es pour le travail abattu <\/em>\u00bb, ajoute-t-il, rappelant que \u00ab la r\u00e9volution n\u2019est jamais facile, car rien ne se construit du jour au lendemain <\/em>\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Pour Jabulansi Urhobo, membre de la diaspora afro-carib\u00e9enne originaire de la Jama\u00efque, le voyage rev\u00eat une forte charge symbolique : \u00ab Nos anc\u00eatres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 kidnapp\u00e9s et arrach\u00e9s \u00e0 cette terre. Aujourd\u2019hui, nous effectuons un p\u00e8lerinage vers notre terre m\u00e8re<\/em> \u00bb. Inspir\u00e9 par Thomas Sankara et Ibrahim Traor\u00e9, il affirme : \u00ab Ils nous inspirent et nous montrent ce qui est possible pour nous, malgr\u00e9 tout ce que nous avons v\u00e9cu<\/em> \u00bb. \u00ab Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, oui, j\u2019ai beaucoup appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 <\/em>\u00bb, confie-t-il, estimant que \u00ab le Burkina Faso est, selon moi, l\u2019un des pays les plus inspirants, notamment du point de vue politique et des perspectives de d\u00e9veloppement futur<\/em> \u00bb.<\/p>\n

S\u2019adressant \u00e0 la diaspora, il cite Marcus Mosiah Garvey : \u00ab Si vous n\u2019avez pas confiance en vous-m\u00eames, vous \u00eates d\u00e9j\u00e0 deux fois vaincus dans la course de la vie<\/em> \u00bb. \u00ab Nous devons avoir confiance en nous-m\u00eames et en notre peuple, afin de reconna\u00eetre et de soutenir les actions positives qui sont men\u00e9es pour notre bien-\u00eatre collectif<\/em> \u00bb, poursuit-il, invitant \u00e9galement \u00e0 oser le voyage : \u00ab Il ne faut pas avoir peur de voyager, car le voyage ouvre l\u2019esprit \u00bb.<\/p>\n
