Cette op\u00e9ration, qui impliquerait une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 russe non encore nomm\u00e9e et la Sopamine, soci\u00e9t\u00e9 nig\u00e9rienne sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e dans la commercialisation de minerais, suscite une vive inqui\u00e9tude du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de Paris sur fond de tensions diplomatiques persistantes entre Niamey et la France depuis le coup d\u2019\u00c9tat de juillet 2023.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019enjeu d\u00e9passe le simple champ commercial. Pour Paris, il s\u2019agit d\u2019une question strat\u00e9gique : la France, qui d\u00e9pend largement de l\u2019uranium sah\u00e9lien pour l\u2019alimentation de son important parc de centrales nucl\u00e9aires, pourrait perdre l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 une ressource cl\u00e9 qu\u2019elle consid\u00e9rait historiquement comme s\u00e9curis\u00e9e. Ce potentiel transfert massif de volumes vers la Russie viendrait fragiliser davantage une cha\u00eene d\u2019approvisionnement d\u00e9j\u00e0 sous pression, alors m\u00eame que la question \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique occupe le premier plan des pr\u00e9occupations europ\u00e9ennes dans un contexte de recomposition g\u00e9opolitique acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Au-del\u00e0 de l\u2019impact \u00e9conomique, l\u2019op\u00e9ration conforte la mont\u00e9e en puissance de Moscou dans l\u2019espace africain, notamment au Sahel, o\u00f9 la Russie multiplie depuis plusieurs mois accords, partenariats s\u00e9curitaires, d\u00e9ploiement de conseillers militaires, investissements miniers et offensives d\u2019influence. Pour les experts, cette vente d\u2019uranium pourrait renforcer la place russe dans le secteur strat\u00e9gique de la transition \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique mondiale, au moment o\u00f9 l\u2019Union europ\u00e9enne cherche activement \u00e0 diversifier ses d\u00e9pendances \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques hors du continent africain.<\/p>\n<p>Niamey n\u2019a pour l\u2019heure pas officiellement confirm\u00e9 l\u2019information, mais les autorit\u00e9s nig\u00e9riennes ont plusieurs fois exprim\u00e9 leur volont\u00e9 de red\u00e9finir leurs partenariats et de s\u2019affranchir des sch\u00e9mas historiques, en privil\u00e9giant de nouveaux alli\u00e9s jug\u00e9s plus \u201crespectueux des souverainet\u00e9s africaines\u201d.
