Situ\u00e9 sur le site m\u00eame de leur assassinat tragique, ce lieu de m\u00e9moire incarne un hommage solennel \u00e0 l\u2019un des leaders africains les plus embl\u00e9matiques du 20e si\u00e8cle, le Capitaine Thomas Sankara, et \u00e0 ses douze compagnons tomb\u00e9s \u00e0 ses c\u00f4t\u00e9s le 15 octobre 1987.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Con\u00e7u pour honorer leur engagement r\u00e9volutionnaire et pr\u00e9server l\u2019h\u00e9ritage politique du P\u00e8re de la R\u00e9volution d\u2019ao\u00fbt 1983, le mausol\u00e9e repr\u00e9sente une s\u00e9pulture digne offerte par l\u2019\u00c9tat burkinab\u00e8 \u00e0 ses h\u00e9ros. Il vient clore un douloureux parcours marqu\u00e9 par l\u2019inhumation initiale au cimeti\u00e8re de Dagno\u00ebn, la profanation des tombes, puis l\u2019exhumation des restes. D\u00e9sormais, les martyrs reposent \u00e0 jamais sur le lieu m\u00eame de leur sacrifice, au c\u0153ur d\u2019un monument qui raconte leur histoire et porte leur message.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Une architecture symbolique et enracin\u00e9e<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">L\u2019architecture du mausol\u00e9e se distingue par sa force symbolique. Con\u00e7u en forme d\u2019\u0153il, le monument est constitu\u00e9 de grands segments de cercle de plus de sept m\u00e8tres de haut, d\u2019une rampe monumentale et de marches descendantes repr\u00e9sentant les 13 martyrs couch\u00e9s. La structure utilise des blocs de lat\u00e9rite taill\u00e9e et des blocs de terre comprim\u00e9e, un mat\u00e9riau \u00e9cologique et traditionnel qui refl\u00e8te les id\u00e9aux de sobri\u00e9t\u00e9, d\u2019autonomie et de d\u00e9veloppement durable chers \u00e0 Sankara.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">La disposition spatiale du mausol\u00e9e traduit une symbolique solaire : dans les traditions locales, la vie humaine commence \u00e0 l\u2019est (lever du soleil) et s\u2019ach\u00e8ve \u00e0 l\u2019ouest (coucher du soleil). Sankara et ses compagnons, arrach\u00e9s pr\u00e9matur\u00e9ment \u00e0 la vie, n\u2019ont pas atteint ce \u00ab\u00a0couchant\u00a0\u00bb. Ainsi, leur s\u00e9pulture est orient\u00e9e vers le sud, avec les corps align\u00e9s du nord au sud. La tombe de Sankara occupe la position centrale, entour\u00e9e par celles de ses douze compagnons, r\u00e9partis par tirage au sort : six \u00e0 gauche, six \u00e0 droite.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Un espace de lumi\u00e8re, de silence et de recueillement<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Le plafond du mausol\u00e9e est perc\u00e9 de treize persiennes laissant filtrer la lumi\u00e8re du soleil. Ces ouvertures, qui cr\u00e9ent un jeu de lumi\u00e8re \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur, symbolisent le vide laiss\u00e9 par la disparition de ces figures historiques. L\u2019esplanade entourant le site, soutenue par des murailles en granite condens\u00e9, marie le savoir-faire local \u00e0 une vision architecturale contemporaine, rendant hommage \u00e0 la m\u00e9moire tout en regardant vers l\u2019avenir.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Une \u0153uvre de la Nation, port\u00e9e par la volont\u00e9 politique<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Enti\u00e8rement financ\u00e9e par l\u2019\u00c9tat burkinab\u00e8, la construction du mausol\u00e9e a \u00e9t\u00e9 supervis\u00e9e avec attention par les plus hautes autorit\u00e9s du pays, sous le leadership du Capitaine Ibrahim Traor\u00e9, Pr\u00e9sident du Faso. Ce projet incarne la reconnaissance officielle de la Nation envers ceux qui ont incarn\u00e9 un id\u00e9al de justice sociale, d\u2019int\u00e9grit\u00e9 et de souverainet\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Le Mausol\u00e9e Thomas Sankara et ses 12 compagnons s\u2019impose d\u00e9sormais comme un haut lieu de m\u00e9moire nationale, un symbole d\u2019engagement, de dignit\u00e9 et de r\u00e9silience.
